Examples of Character Function Theory within a thriller film (Case 39) :
The Villian : Lillith Sullivian. She is the villain/antagonist within this film because at the end, we find out as an audience that she is actually a demon, in which she tries to trap Emily.
The dispatcher: The dispatcher in this film can actually be seen being Emily herself, because she is the one who adopts Lillith (who is the villain) and from then onwards that is when more and more problems start to occur. The dispatcher in this media product can also however be seen as Lillith's parents as after they get caught that is when Lillith and Emily start getting close.
The Hero - Emily is the hero within this media product because she is the one that kills Lillith and overall puts and end to her evil plans.
The False Hero - The false hero strangely enough is also Lillith because when we are first introduced to her, she appears to simply be just an abused child who we all feel sympathy for.
