Typical characters in thriller films

Characters in Thriller Films from magrethxx

Example of Characters in Thriller Films (example being Case 39):

Case 39 is a thriller/psychological horror, however because of the two genres it fits into, I believe that it would also fit into the genre/sub-genre of a psychological thriller perfectly. So because of that (and also as I am doing a psychological thriller in my own individual media product) I am going to use it as a brief example to see if in that film, the stereotypical characters are used.

Stalker? : Within this film you can say that there is a stalker, this within the character of Lillith, because although she is a demon, she attaches herself to Emily and follows her, taking control of Emily's life watching her every move, even going as far as murdering one of her love interests.

Criminal/Serial Killers & Prison Inmates & Cops/Police : In this film there is defiantly criminals and that is the role of the parents of Lillith as they attempt to murder her by putting her in the stove, and obviously after getting caught, both go to separate prisons (however the mother's prison appears to be more similar to a mental institution). And we as an audience get to see scenes which shows multiple criminals. prison inmates and police in a prison environment.

Innocent victims: There are many innocent victims within this media text, this including the parents, the people who Lillith murders and also Emily.

Psychopaths: Lillith (although a demon) can also be included in the 'psychopath' category as she is clearly not a normal little girl. To add on to that, although not psychopaths, Lillith's parents can be seen as been mentally ill or having psychological problems due to the experience they had with Lillith.

Twisted Relationships: There are many twisted relationships in this film ranging from the Lillith's parents relationship and the relationship Lillith has with other people in general.

Characters with a bad/dark past: This is basically nearly every single person in this film!

The only thing this film does not have is escaped convicts, other than that, the film conforms to nearly all of the stereotypical characters within thriller films.
