However, after showing our peers our first draft, our next task was to get feedback (Audience response) both positive and negative in order to find out what we could do further improve our work. I believe receiving Audience feedback is good and beneficial because what tends to happen is people fail to see what could be improved on and faults within their own work, especially when your so adamant that you did everything right. Therefore, audience feedback is good because other people would be reviewing our work, so we get to see our work now from the eyes of someone else, also someone who will give honest, genuine advice for improvements.
The way I constructed and presented my audience feedback was by a software I found called 'StoryboardThat', the three characters in the storyboard represent the three people who I asked and the conversation bubble being an accurate representation of their feedback. To make it more clear if there is difficulty reading I also have included text below writing what they said.
Made with Storyboard That
- The storyboard was very effective in clearly telling the narrative to the audience. This is good because it clearly establishes the plot which prepares the audience and lets them know what the are in for. However, to improve on I would work on continuity especially in the scenes where it cuts to a complete different location. Maybe a softer transition?
- In the draft although the shots used show off your camera skills and creativity skills extremely well, I feel that you would find great difficulty in actually creating these shots. For example the birds eye view shot, no disrespect but unless you've got a helicopter how could you create that! It's all about being realistic working with what you can do and what you got.
- I like how you quickly establish the narrative and make it very clear and evident what the story line is going to be like without giving away too much! However, to improve you could give some more exposure to the antagonist? As within the story board we only see him/her at the very end, and even in that scene nothing is really revealed, so maybe expose more of them to add more suspense and mystery?!
