Question 1) Evidently I created this question in order to have a clear understanding over the age group of the majority of thriller films. From previous research, I have knowledge that when it comes to thriller films most of them are rated 15 or 18, with having a unisex target audience of people aged 18 - 35. This information would help me in overall deciding what rating my film would be and the context my film would include. As if the majority of people responding are young adults (for examples 15 - 17) I would make sure the context of my opening and general film it would include context that fit the 15 certificate requirements.
Question 2) The second question I choose to decide what sub-genre my film would be. From general knowledge, I know that majority of film genres (such as horror, romance, action) have sub genres connected to me, this meaning, that when a film has the genre 'thriller' enlisted to it, the actual context of the film varies as there are different types of thrillers. Therefore, I generated this question so it would give me an idea of what sub-genre of thriller is favored.
Question 3) I generated question 3 so I could get an insight on what made people love and favor that particular sub-genre. Not only would this help me in finally deciding which sub-genre I would choose but it would also help me in knowing what attracts my target audience to this particular genre, using their feedback and comments into my own piece of work.
Question 5) Now this question I generated so I could have better understanding on what attracts the audience and what is their personal preferences (what they found most relate-able/likable). Although it is only appears to be a small question and not as important, it would help me in the character roles as I evidently want my film to be diverse so I could attract a wide audience.
Question 6) I created this question for the same reasons as above.
Question 7) Now within this question I highlighted what I believe are the most important things to focus on within a film (any genre) and the 4 things which make a film what it is basically. Within this question, the people answering would rank what they believe is the most important out of each of these 4 individually. This would help me into deciding what I should focus and concentrate more within my opening (so if mise-en-scene was ranked number one I would focus most on mise-en-scene as my audience believes that is the most important)
Question 8) This question would just give me a more deeper insight as to why my audience believe this is the most important feature within the opening sequence.
Question 9) I created this question because I wanted to know if my audience preferred the stereotypical thriller vs a thriller which is unusual and unexpected. This would help me in deciding what type of story-line and what type of events would occur within my film.
Question 10) I not only wanted to leave the questionnaire on a lighthearted feel but adding a very simple question, I also wanted to get to know my audience better. However, if there was a pattern or repetion of a film being mentioned within this question, I would look into it deeper by researching that particular film to get an understanding on why it is so liked, possibly taking a couple of things/tips from that film and using it into my own.
