Actors, Props, Location & Equipment
Actors – Because of film was set about the disappearance of
a young child whilst abroad on holiday, I would ideally needed a family to set the whole ‘family holiday’
representation and mood. Originally, the child in my film who was going to go
missing was a little girl, however, because of complications that arose, I
realised that it would actually be quite difficult to find a little girl who I
knew who would fit ideally in this role and be committed to do this role, also
to fit the age of the girl in my film. So because of this, I changed my script
so that a little boy gets missing instead, which would have been much easier as
I just simply gave that role to a younger sibling who I know would be happy to
play the role and be committed. Family members would also play the role as the
other people in the family, there was only two main characters however, so
although my family would participate they would be more background characters,
with my mum (taking the role as the mother) and my younger brother
(playing the role as the evident kidnapped son).
Props – There are no evident props involved within my
opening, I’m hoping the scenery being at a beach will offer its on props by
itself and make it clear to the audience that the opening is set at some type
of holiday place. Despite this, I will
include small extra features such as a bucket and spade or a few toys for my brother (the missing boy) to
play with whilst at the age to create a sense of realism and go with the whole ‘holiday
abroad’ storyline.
Location – Because of the plotline of my story, I had
decided to set my opening at a beachside area being in Clacton or Felixstowe
(undecided which one of the two I will officially go to). This because –
evidently – I could not actually film abroad to represent the holiday
resort/family abroad type setting so the fact that Clacton & Felixstowe
both are tourist places which include a beach and rides/arcade, I knew I could
use that to my advantage, so using the features of that place to act as a
holiday beach/arcade. To add on to that, since there would be flashbacks in the
opening, I would also have minor clips at parks (which would only last a few
seconds) and my house, these acting as the flashback scenes.
Equipment – When it comes to the equipment all I will really bring is the camera and tripod which I will be borrowing from school, this being used to film my opening. Any other equipment will not be necessary.

One last thing I brought alongside with me is my second draft, this is because I would need it to constantly refer back to and stick to my plan in case I forget or not go by the correct scenes.
